Separately, Ely Buendia and the Itchyworms already rank among the most prolific and successful artists in the history of Original Pilipino Music. Buendia spearheaded the 90’s band boom with his motley crew of college buddies, the eraserheads, after which he went rogue, building one of the most eclectic catalogues of music with Pupil, The Oktaves, and Apartel. The itchyworms are the keepers of the OPM flame, with their own distinct brand of ineffable melodies laced with humor and heart. They are responsible for modern classics like “Beer” and “Akin Ka Na Lang.” Ely and the ‘Worms getting together can only be described as a match made in heaven. But far from being a one-off project, the partners-in-rhyme already have more songs in the pipeline.
