Jay Villarosa, most popularly named under the moniker, “Sexy Jay”, is a reinvention of the rising post-punk sound in the PH local indie scene. Figuring out his love for the genre through the soundtracks of skate tricks on YouTube, Sexy Jay formulated his sonic persona into a more atmospheric and experimental jive through the use of synth-heavy tracks with a touch of electronica, and lyrics bordering “fun” and “nonsensical”. 

He first started recording most of his independently released tracks in the bathroom and the mic of a wired earphone, dubbing them as “Toilet Records”. With this, he utilizes the soft echoes of the space and the imperfect sound effects of the voice through the cheap mic as a deliberate stylistic choice for the vocals of his songs.
